I've been working on a similar project for my Senior Design class. I've discovered the following.
PC Card and CompactFlash share a common electrical interface (see the CompactFlash spec) so this
choice is arbitrary.
I chose to use a card with a PRISM II chipset as Intersil, www.intersil.com, will give you a driver
development guide (RM025) with an NDA. Linksys cards are PRISM II based, as are many others. There
are also open source drivers available for these cards.
